Detailed description of Pines Golf Course

The Pines Golf Course, previously named Industrial Park Golf Club, and originally named Bainbridge Air Base golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Bainbridge, Georgia.

The course first opened for play in 1953. It was originally a 9-hole course designed by William Kustus. This historical golf course is surrounded by the view of the former Decatur County WWII Air Base (Bainbridge Army Airfield), which is now the Decatur County Industrial Air Park.As a result of the Korean War which began in 1950 and the expansion of the United States Air Force, Bainbridge Air Base was reopened to train pilots. The base was inactivated and returned to civilian control on 31 March 1961. It was during this period that the course was first opened. The course was expanded to 18 holes around the turn of the century.

The course plays to a par-72 and 5,761 yards from the back tees.

$10 (cart included), played on Wednesday, March 2009 at 10am

Course now has 18 holes. Price is $14 on weekdays and $18 on weekends. Some of the new greens are small square flat topped piles of dirt with sparse grass. Not many people playing so play at your own pace.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Worse than average course for the area
